In recent years, the adaptability of rice varieties in Xizang has been continuously improved. In 2025, two stable rice lines "2021LS-68" and "2021LS-2" completed multi-ecological site identification in Lhasa, Gyaca County of Shannan, Bayi District and Zayu County of Linzhi City, raising the upper limit of rice cultivation to 3,650 meters above sea level. This fills the gap of high-altitude rice planting areas in Xizang, and now the highland rice regions have entered the harvest season. (People's Daily)
